New favorite spot
Avery wiggled her way behind Daddy's toolbox and made a nice little hiding spot for herself. Sometimes we think it looks like she is a vendor at a fair showing off the remarkable features of the toolbox!
Pool time fun!
Due to a not so rainy rainy season we have reduced Avery's "pool" to a tub we use to wash clothes in. She loves to wash her animals in it. :)
4th of July Sudanese style
Our family with the other American on our team, Claire, headed out to the Nile Queen restaurant in town to celebrate the 4th of July they had burgers on the menu but just happened to be out of them. The pic of Avery on Dad's shoulders also gives a glimpse of a busy part of town, note the KAT digging a ditch :)
What is this "cold weather" you speak of???
It actually got cold enough one day during a rain storm that Avery wore a jacket! Because I had to document that occasion and because she is just too adorable here is the pic from that day.

Avery's adoring fans have waited just too long for only one update so here are a few more pics that capture the essence of our Avery bug. P.s. I feel I must explain that in one shot I had just found her eating the leftover oreo's from Daddy's previous late night snack! Good thing he loves her soo much.

A long overdue update...
Our little gal is BUSY! After being knocked down twice by illnesses we are on the mend yet again and have the energy and bandwidth to catch you all up on her life. So on with the updates...
She HAS to pray before meals and loves to say "Amen!" sometimes before the person praying is ready. We are also working on her timing of saying "bye-bye" as she tends to let that come out to early :)
After her nap she likes to have a bit of alone time to slowly wake up.
She loves "watching" cartoons and listening to music simply to repeat back the words she knows. She still loves her books.
She is a real girl and has to have a doll or stuffed animal with her and now tries to feed it and put diapers on it.
Our little dancer makes up her own dances to the drums that seem to be constantly coming from the church/school next door.
If she hears an airplane overhead she will put out her arms or "wings" and make the sound of an airplane
She remembers where she left her doll and can go find it if we ask her. She also remembers what comes next in books and will constantly say the word of what she knows on that page until we turn to it.
She likes to have her hair "done"- just being put into a pony on the top of her head.
She also likes to have a bag whenever possible. :)
Big girl gets a big girl chair. When we need to she can actually sit in a big person chair to eat a meal!
