Another month to catch up...

Let's see where to begin. Avery has advanced to being able to walk while only holding onto someone with one hand. She sometimes will eat a piece of finger food. She easily stands up and crawls and cruises faster and faster each day. She has learned the art of posing and will laugh along with us. She can nod yes and no, even though she has no idea what she is doing she loves the response she gets. She BEGAN SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!! She made a few moves and is temporarily settling into life in Nairobi for a few months and making friends with all she meets. Through her smiles and waves she easily breaks the ice for her parents. She quickly adjusted to Nairobi time and is once again sleeping through the night. Other than a bad case of diaper rash she hasn't gotten ill since we have been here! This is a huge praise and a surprise as she gets touched by pretty much everyone we walk by. Now for some pictures and possibly a video if we can get good internet speed for a bit.

Avery is amazing us each day! Today she stood on her own three times!!! Any day now she will be up and walking!

Talking machine... and other updates

Avery has been "talking" most of the day today! I will have to get a recording of it soon to put up online. It seems like with each new day she can make new sounds and learns more of the art of conversation. :)
She also stood up today and was able to keep standing by leaning against my leg but not holding on to anything!
She now has a slight bump on her bottom gum where it looks like a tooth will be making its appearance any day now, we will keep you all updated on that as well as other new Avery items. Hope these last few posts has caught everyone up on what Avery has been up to the last month or so!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot! Her 9 month stats- 14 pounds 15 ounces and 26.75 inches! We had to go early for this visit but she proves to still be staying right on her growth curve! She is now up to 3 meals a day of solid foods which should help us pack on a few more ounces before we head over to Africa!

Fun times with Dad

It is so neat to see Avery's personality coming out more and more. It is a joy to she how she lights up with Taylor walks in the room. She loves her Daddy and even loves to chew on his toes! The picture of Avery in the nude is during a clean up of an explosion on a recent trip. Funny how each time there is a major accident Taylor happens to be with us and is very helpful :)

Wow, what a fast, wonderful, exhausting, rewarding nine months it has been!

We celebrated Taylor's big day with, of course, a trip to best buy, a fun lunch with big girl Avery sitting in a high chair, and time outside enjoying this great weather!

On the second day of driving we pushed through and made it to Rock Hill late in the evening and got a hotel room instead of bothering the neighbors for a key to our temporary home. The next morning we all awoke more relaxed than we had been in a long while and had a relaxing morning of enjoying Avery!

Have to say it again...

Avery has been a trooper! We have felt your prayers over the last weeks. Avery handled the packing, moving, selling, and many hours in her car seat like a champ! Here are a few pics of the transition time some call, September. :) We were even able to remember to take a family picture of us leaving our duplex. Oh, and take another look at Avery learning how to master the sippy cup!
