October/November Catch Up

Here are some pictures of the kiddos and what they have been up to recently. We are enjoying the warmer weather and trying to get in the holiday spirit!

Avery Update

As you all know, Avery is awesome! We have been so blessed by this little gal. She is a great big sister and such a loving and kind 5 year old!

Larson Update

Where to begin... Larson is quite the little funny man. He is really coming into his personality and we are enjoying his smiles, jokes and exploding vocabulary! His energy never seems to run out and we are loving watching him discovery more about the world each and every day!

Hello again...

I had forgotten about this blog until I was wondering how to share some videos of Larson without posting them somewhere more public! I will be trying to post more to share with you all the kiddo updates.

Avery's ittsy bittsy spider family

Big sis

Avery is still doing amazingly well as a big sis! This morning it was really hard for Larson to stay asleep during his nap. Each time we heard his cries on the monitor she would say, "Uh oh, that is baby brother! Go get him! I will wait for you here." Such a sweetheart and I really appreciate it her cheerful attitude especially while Taylor is away! She has always been a pretty laid back little girl but it still amazes me what she comes up with while playing by herself as I run up and down the stairs tending to Larson.

She played with blocks for almost an hour this morning, yesterday she drew a family of itsy bitsy spiders with chalk, and she also was practicing her letters. The pic with her and Larson is an "L"!

Averyisms

Don't want to forget these cute ways Avery says somethings and thought you might enjoy them too!
She says "Tar-tar" in the place of guitar.
When she asks to be excused from the table she says, "May I to get down please" or "May I please be excused to get down please".
When she says the bolero blue she emphasizes the L and sticks her tongue out and yellow is Lellow.
Sun screen lotion sounds more like ice cream ocean :)
When Larson sneezes she sometimes says he is blessing.
She has the idea down for a possessive but with some names it gets a little extra, example Thomas's's's',
When she plays horsey she says "get me up" for giddy up.
Those are just a few I can remember off the top of my head. I will add more later as they come to mind.

Update on the kiddos

Totally slacking in the update department so here it goes...

Larson has already started competing against his sister. He had to beat her time of rolling over at 2 1/2 months and he rolled over at 2 days shy of his two month birthday!
He started cooing pretty early and is now making the cutest squeals and other noises.

Avery suddenly was able to sing the ABC song just by hearing some other kids sing it a few times. I realized I needed to work with her on ABCs after that and her pointing out the letter A on something. She was able to draw the letter A a few times but has since stopped. :) We will keep on trying!

Gloves

Avery found some socks and put them on during her nap time. When she woke up she told me she put on her gloves. :) Silly girl.

Growing fast!

Here is a recent pic of our little guy learning how to grab onto his pacifier! Can't believe how quickly he is growing!

Arts and Crafts

Avery is just so much fun! We are enjoying some mama and Avery time while baby brother takes a good morning nap now days. She loves to play with the great arts set sent by the OITS Sunday school class.
She loves to paint and can even draw the letter A now! If you look close at one picture you will see little fuzzy balls in her ears. She called them her "earrings!"

Summer time fun!

Our lucky little ones get to have two summers this year! Here they are enjoying an afternoon by the pool.

10 weeks already!

Our big little guy is already 10 weeks old! He is a lovable 11 +pounds and 25 inches! I am enjoying his smiles and his coos and now squeals. He is a silly little guy who sometimes wakes up from a nap early and when I try to put him back to sleep he just gives me the biggest grins. I think he already figured out that it just makes me smile and laugh and then he knows he can get up.

Sheriff Larson

Don't worry little missy a new sheriff is in town. Put 'em up bad guys.

It's just me!

Strong little dude

Our Larson has impressed us with his strength from day one! The morning after his birth he was already holding up his head for a few seconds! His first week with us he could turn from his back to his side and he started to making cooing sounds!

Welcome to the world little Larson

Larson William Martyn arrived 21 December at 8:15pm weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces and 19.25 inches, we think he actually was longer than this. We were able to come home from the hospital on Christmas Eve and have the present of our whole little family waking up in our home on Christmas morning. Avery has been a super big sis and we are slowly getting the hang of taking care of a newborn again.
